"I should like to make even the most ordinary spectator feel that he is not living in the best of all possible worlds."
Beach Debris is a series of landscape photographs detailing items found washed ashore along Lake Ontario.
The items, such as balloons and plastic bottles, intrude on the sand, rock, snow and ice. The invented colours of man-made objects interpose themselves on the natural palette of nature. The photographs invite the viewer to ponder the history of the synthetic objects and to examine the impact of consumerism on the environment.
