Artist Statement

Using the syntax of commercial outdoor product photography, I create images of the results of consumerism. Lost, discarded and broken objects replace the new objects of ad photos on the natural background of pebbles, granite, snow and water. Viewers are invited to think about how the romantic ruggedness of the Canadian landscape is used to promote a culture of consumerism.
